Choose the configuration mode

BeAI provides two approaches:

• Automatic provisioning: BeAI creates a permanent virtual MAC address for the bot and retrieves its configuration from the supplied provisioning URL.
• Advanced manual configuration: enter the SIP server, username, secret and network settings supplied by your operator.

Automatic provisioning

1. Create or save the bot first to obtain its virtual MAC address.
2. Register this MAC address with your telephony platform.
3. Copy the provisioning URL for the bot.
4. Save, then use Refresh provisioning.
5. Check that the SIP status changes to registered.

The MAC address remains attached to the bot throughout its lifetime. Reloading the bot or runtime queues provisioning retrieval to avoid a burst of requests.

Manual configuration

Enter the values provided by the operator without adding an unrequested prefix or transport. Enable DTMF only when the bot must navigate an IVR or send digits during a transfer.

Check the status

In the bot list and details:

• Registered confirms that the SIP REGISTER request was accepted;
• the OPTIONS status shows whether the destination responds to presence checks;
• status details show the latest useful response.

An incorrect password on one bot does not mean the entire cluster is failing. Correct that bot's settings first.

Network requirements

Your firewall and PBX must accept SIP signalling and RTP streams from the BeAI addresses supplied for your environment. Preserve the caller number and use a codec supported by both platforms.
